It's me!

I bet you thought I'd abandoned my blog ! Nope - just lazy!
I made this card for Sian and Mark's wedding - I was honoured to be asked to photograph their special day yesterday. It was a lovely day - everything went perfectly.

Smelling the flowers

I've been doing an online photography course run by Cheryl Johnson and would recommend her classes to everyone (www.feelgoodworkshops.co.uk). This week's module involved taking photos of an inanimate object so I went outside to photograph a tub of flowers.. unfortunately someone wanted to help.....

I've been a baaaaddd blogger and ignored my blog for ages. This year though I intend to post more, using it as a diary of my creations - a record for myself to show what I've been playing with.
Today I went to a Stampin Up training session, and this is a photo of my swap. It was a lovely day - Jo had designed some great projects for us and I'm going to enjoy re-creating them at home (thanks Jo x).

It's been a while......

It's been a while since I blogged but I've not been scrapping or card making for a couple of months. My dear Mother passed away on 13th October, so I've not really had the time to do any playing. Things are getting easier, and I've finally made a card - only it's a sad card as one of my close friend's Mother passed away earlier this week. This card is for Laura x

It started out flat ....

I've been looking for "flat" cards on loads of blogs and found my favourites on Vicky's blog . Mine started out the same way - an aperture inked and then stamped (I found the easiest way to ink was to use a "mop" brush). I made a mess of the edges though, so inked in a border and then decided to ink in the area around the aperture. I made vellum butterflies and a bee - and there the flat card idea disappeared as I was determined to use the Stampin Up Rich Razzleberry striped grosgrain ribbon. The card was for my cousin's birthday, so I went to the post office myself - to save being grumped at by my husband because it didn't fit the normal 1st class dimensions. The next one will be cheaper to post ..... maybe....!

I've been playing!

I've been playing with a new (to me) technique - using the negative part of a die cut as a stencil, and inking through the hole.
I used my Little Claire beach huts again, and a Stampin Up sentiment from Curly Cute. The finished card is much flatter than it would have been if I'd used my usual layers, so it's cheaper to post - always good!

One of the blogs I've been following is Little Claire's and challenge #10 is to use pink and brown.
Here's my effort using the Little Claire's Beach Huts Stamps.
Thanks for looking x
